I love my power tools, but hate having to move them in and out of my house. Soon I'll be able to bring them up to our garden/lake place. That's where I work in the warmer months. I was there today and dug in the garden and felt Spring coming over me. I've got a fun idea for a diddly bow that will be #18. Wish tax prep would go away. Man, self employment sucks for taxes. ... hah, i've tried the wrasp and the belt sand. i'm glad i picked the router up. i like the repeatablity of the router. i did round off the ears for the head on the belt sander. i just placed them along the neck to see how i did lining 'em up.

i figure there's no such thing as "cheating" in these lines of work, it's the same logic that follows, they don't use sail boats to ship cargo anymore! (heh) beside i still gotta sand it by hand to finish her off anyway. thanks for the comments guys!

oh, i used a Half inch roundover bit Dave, but they got plenty of different sizes!

I do all my shaping with a coarse wood rasp and sandpaper after rough shaping with the belt sander---need to invest in some new router bits---this is a much faster way to go! Some of the purists feel that power tools are "cheating", but I say "don't hate me for having too many tools", and I definitely have "too many tools" :) ;) ---never!!!!

Nice router work. I've been rounding mine with a belt sander. Slow, but works. Mine aren't very even like your routing job. I think I need a bit like yours. So far I use the router for pockets in solid body guitars to hold pickups and pots.
