I cut mine from a 2" thick block of wood and I make the head angle 12 degrees without recessing the area were the tuners are, it goes over the nut (bolt) just fine. Your recessed are may work nicer than mine because my strings run very close to the headstock. Looks like it will work to me.

Seems an aweful waste of wood when your resulting neck seems to be 21mm. Why not simply cut a scarf-joint on one 21mm piece. You'll get 2 necks from the same quantity of timber that way.

Are you laminating two 21mm pieces together and then cutting out the neck/headstock shape?

Will also add "wings" on each side of this headstock, but the mechanichs will still be fitted in just the original "neck piece."
