For the nut I used st steel studding, ground a flat on one side and tapped two threads so it could be bolt on.

Glass? Well they do ring glass for bells and shatter it on high notes. Then there's humming bowls. I love the knob top. It looked to me like a cane rubber bumper.

The bit on the end is the nob from the original pyrex lid from the saucepan :)
I was going to use the Pyrex lid, but I didn't think it would sound terribly good.
Has anyone ever used pyrex? for all I know it might sound great.
