Just finished converting a Harbor Freight tile saw to a fret slotting saw using a Stew-Mac fret slotting blade.
Sled is 3/4" birch plywood from Rockler, as are the rails and fences. I used an Irvin 140 tooth hollow ground 7 1/4" circular saw bladed for the initial cut in the sled because the Stew-Mac blade is pretty thick before it thins out for the narrow kerf for slots. I cut a couple of slots in a scrap and put a Jumbo fret in one of the slots. So far I'm pleased.

Thanks Bob, took me awhile to get it done too, and I was pretty anxious to make that slot in the sled.  Whew.  I wasn't happy with any of the birch ply at the big box stores and the nearest Rockler is a couple hundred miles away.  The grand kids live there but we were only recently able to go.  I bought a couple of pieces to make some other sleds for the table saw etc.

Great job.  I bought the HF saw a couple years ago but still haven’t made the sled.  Maybe seeing yours will move me off the dime.
