Thanks guys. Nickles seat quite snugly if you use a 13/16" forstner or spade bit. I just put masking tape over the holes that the spade bits made in the back (they have that triangular portion in the middle that drills all the way through, and used a bit of duco in the holes to ensure they stay, then just gently tapped them in with a wooden stick. Once this one's done, there will be a 9th buffalo nickle, but with the front showing, set into the neck brace that runs below the sound hole. I am hoping the effect will be quite nice.

that is primo cool. primo means the best of the best gitty, just wanted to tell you about the nickels, i got a bunch of those that are connected to a tack.they are tacks that are the size of nickels and have the buffalo on some and have the indian head on some. they are really nice polished up and couldn,t figure how i would use them on a cigarbox guitar application. just finished a two string didly bow a bout a half hour ago and put the buffalo nickels on it for position markers, how neat that great minds think alike, you and ted i mean.great minds you know are the leaders in this world.
