A Frankenstein build made of Daniel’s steel reinforced neck and a Mahogany body of my doing. The original guitar jack knifed at the neck, body connection. I cut the body off and reinforced the structure. Dark Mahogany plates, bone saddle, vintage mag pickup. Steamer leaf tail. Knobs are made of cores from a hole saw with Mahogany tops and pearl dots.

Don’t feel bad Daniel. I just went through fitting an old banjo neck into my pot (took all morning) only to discover the neck had twisted over time since it left it’s old crack pot banjo. I just hadn’t seen it till I got it snug in the new pot. So now i’ve Started over with a new neck blank at square 1. Your cool lap steel was at least very playable, it was just bowed. I think by making two guits from it it is reincarnated. It’s reproducing. I could have left the twisted neck in my new banjo. It would have played ok. But it bothered me. No one would like to buy a twisted neck banjo. If i’d Of left the bowed lap steel the way it was i’d Of imbarassed you each time I played it. This way, I got two nice guits from one. Forgive me if I told it’s story but it was a learning experience to share. I learned much from it. So did you. You’ve helped me so much with my iPad trouble, i’ve Learned again. Thanks Daniel. You’re a gem.

Dave, i would have never sent it with a "jack knifed neck". my guess is that after i added all six strings and brought it to pitch, sounded good, but that was only a day before it shipped. had to jack knife on the way. at least that's what i want to believe to make me feel better.

I think I have a lifetimes supply of steamer leaves and discovered they have new steamers at my grocery store. 6.95 gets you 24 leaves. The scribed lines work pretty good. I need something to see to play slide. Both dots and lines. I didn’t want to try and stripe the neck.

sound good? i like the scribed lines. pretty cool using the nut as the bridge. seems like you have plenty of steamer plates.
