Wow! The headstock is elegant like fine jewelry. Tops Brian

Cheers Jeff, and coming from an experienced builder like yourself I'm humbled by your kind comments....thanks man! Credit for the sound hole idea must go to the very talented Rob Wrobel though, as I 'pinched' it from him.....(thanks Rob!) My idea with these is to make a kind of 'pair', one fretted and the current build fret-less. On the Aroma de Cuba I used gold mother of pearl for the inlays.....the San Cristobal will follow the teardrop design but made from some very pretty pau abalone I managed to source.......more pics here, if you haven't seem 'em already.....https://cigarboxnation.com/photo/photo/listForContributor?screenNam...

The gold pearl is hard to photograph to do it justice when the light catches it, but here's another showing the teardrop inlay on the head stock after finishing the neck.

Cheers Dave, and aren't they just. I love the art of those old lithographs, especially when you appreciate how they were originally produced. So many fine skills and crafts lost from a bygone age, all done by human hand and eye, only to be replaced by 'modern' techniques in the name of profit and speed of production......it makes me sad. Good to know that these boxes are still around, Although not so easy to come by here in the UK. I got mine from Chickenbone John at a very good price compared to shipping from overseas.

Here's a link to some more beautiful cigar box label art that I'm sure you'll enjoy seeing......https://www.google.co.uk/search?biw=1280&bih=689&tbm=isch&a...

Here's another link to another very interesting page explaining stone lithography on the excellent (and highly recommended!) cigar label junkie website.......http://www.cigarlabeljunkie.com/Html/StoneLith.html
