The Hot Rod Ver. 2.0

A year or so ago I built a six string guitar with a couple of mini humbuckers and a chickenshit PRS knock-off neck. I put it together really quick so I could have something to display at concerts and shows.

This is a refined version with a true Smokehouse Guitars neck, better quality pickups and electronics, and an extra year's worth of know how since the last time I made it.

Neck:
Wenge
Ebony
Burled Walnut
MOP Inlay

Pickups:
GFS Vintage mini-humbuckers
3-way selector
Volue/Tone
Push/Pull coil tap (tone knob).

Solid poplar body.

Carving wenge is like cutting through soapstone. I need to resharpen all my tools after that one. Also, wenge is mildly poisonous, and can produce skin rashes or other reactions and is not good to breathe.

So yeah, pretty miserable.

Great job mate a fine looking build - How did you find working the Wenge ? i used it on the fretboards on the last four plank Guitars ..while i love the look of it i found it a real pain in the ass to work
