Thanks, Mike. I made the markers by drilling shallow holes in the fret board with a bradpoint bit, then sawing slices of exotic bamboo (culled from the crop of chopsticks in the kitchen drawer). The soft bamboo discs were just slightly bigger than the hard walnut hole, so fit nice and snug when tapped in with a plastic mallet. Tung oil was then applied in several coats over several days.
