Thanks for the info, it helps very much. Reason is cause my current build has a top that is 13.5" X 10.0" the bridge placement will lay about dead center of the box according to the 26" scale I chose, I think the top needs additional support.

If the guitar is going to have an acoustic body with bridge pins anchoring the strings (i.e. the load of the strings is placed directly on the soundboard) I brace it. For the bridge plate, I just put it where it should go based on my scale length, but transposed to the underside of the lid. All other bracing radiates out from that point and is designed to provide the most bracing support in the direction of the strings' pull. Lateral support is provided but not emphasized due to the heavy side frames I put in. The layout that you see in the pictures is something I came up with to try and accomplish the following 1) bracing against string pull, 2) bracing against rotational forces, 3) amount of extra material minimized to preserve soundboard vibration.

There are so few pieces because the floating area of the soundboard is so small. If it was the size of a traditional guitar top, you would want it to have a lot more "ribs" that are bigger and stronger.

Hey Josh, How do you dertimine where to place the sound board bracing or if it will need bracing anyway?

Nah, got it from LMI. Their stuff comes already radiused. I don't want to screw with bending the stuff myself or buying the tool to do it. I just want the stuff ready to go when I get it.
