This one is .065-.080-.095, about the same sizes as a regular bass steel string set. I did a 2 string-fretted first, but really needed that 3rd string. It seems to work pretty good. I like the 30" since I play regular guitar mostly and it's closer to that scale/hand position than a 34" would be. When I pick up a 34" it just seems way too long to be comfortable.

What string gauges are you using?  I'd like to do a 30" scale bass at some point, either 2 or 3 strings.

Charlie: 30" scale on this one. No truss rod, just nice mahogany with curly maple fingerboard. I think that will be strong enough for the 3 nylon strings. If/when I build 4 steel sting model I might have to do a truss rod or a laminated neck for a little more strength in that I can orient the grain in a stiffer manner.

Very nice work!  What scale are you making your basses with?  Any trouble with the heavy strings warping the neck, or are you using truss rods?
