AGP #323 - “Alpalachia”
(3 String Mountain Banjo)
Scale: 584.2mm / 23 inches
Strings : .024NW / .016PS / .012PS /
Tuning : G / D / g /
The Body & Neck is Recycled Grey Ironbark, an 8” $5 Double Ply (oil filled) Clear Drum Skin Head provides the Banjoey Sound and an Aluminium Sound Ring has been fitted for tension, the White between the Drum Head and the Birdie Sound Hole at the back is white shade cloth I scrounged from somewhere years ago, but forgot I had it until recently rediscovered.
Was a little bit worried about the sound that the Double Ply Drum Head would produce, so added a Disc Piezo Pickup just in case, was unnecessary as this little $21 “Plucker” is plenty loud enough, which came as a total surprise to me! :-)
