Step (10) - ‘The End Product’
AGP #256 - “The Wondai Log”
(3 String Recycled Guitar)
Scale : 673.1mm / 26½ inches
Strings : .044NW / .030NW / .021NW /
Tuning: G / D / g /
This one definitely falls into the “Cheap-Arse” category, the Body and Neck are scavenged/recycled unknown hardwood of some sort, all timber was given a goodly dose of the Blow Torch, and a liberal amount of 50/50 Turps and Linseed oil was then slopped on, the Tailpiece and Output Jack Plate are cut from a sheet old Galvanised Corrugated Roofing Iron, the Machine Heads are Piano Tuners from my trusty old recycled Piano and the side Fret Markers are small Galvanised Fibre Board Nails, a Chinese Ebay 6.3k Single Coil pickup is hardwired to the Jack, it’s a bit on the heavy side at 5kg/11 lbs, but sounds just fine.

"Thanks Uncle John", Yep!, it's a heavy critter, there was a little bit of work involved, splitting the log was the hardest bit, a powered log splitter would be nice, you don't happen to have one in your Pawn Shop do you??????????????????????????????? ;-)

"Thanks Jerry Jordan", Yes!, a good route to take with the tailpiece, been using this type for a while now, makes it easy to unscrew and get the strings out of the way to get inside the box and do any modifications etc; at that weight it would make a handy burglar deterrent if one had the strength to swing it :-)

"Thanks James O Lunsford", Yep!, very happy with the look of this one, the Turps & Linseed Oil really bought out the colours of the wood.

Love that wood, grain and color.   You get the prize for putting the most work into a git.  Nice outcome.  EE  LEVEN pounds!   Just read that.
