AGP # 221 - “OMG” 3
(1 String Gourd Bass)
Scale : 762mm / 30 inches
String : 2.7mm /.105 inch-Whipper Snipper Chord
Tuning: C (or whatever)
This is one of 3 large Kettle Gourds I grew last year, this one was very thin and broken in parts, which was reinforced from the inside with Fibreglass , mainly to the right hand side.
The neck is recycled piano timber, the Soundboard is 3mm Pine Ply, the nut and bridge are recycled Ebony piano keys, and a Piezo disc embedded in a bottle cap with hot glue, is hardwired to the Jack.
The inspiration for this build came from a recently posted video, "Escape From the Lumberyard" Primitive Homemade GUITAR 1 string fretless plank Guitar / Bass Guitar by Mark Stowe
