I had to have a 100 year old maple tree cut down because it was rotting in the centre. My first time ever cutting and splitting wood. Much appreciation for what our ancestress did back in the days before heavy machinery.

Hey, maple is always CBG relatable. One of my early builds used a piece of walnut salvaged from a firewood pile. Some of those pieces look long enough to make into a neck. If the rotted center was hollow it could be made into an instrument body. Yeah, and the ancestors did it all with hand powered tools!

That is really likeable.

Better Trees, thanks.

Sorry my first post was not CGB related. I don't have anything more than a few cigar boxes for now.  I will document my CGB build and post here.  I've already learned so much from this site, and it certainly helps you find parts, although I like the idea of figuring out my first CBG using unconventional parts and not too many real guitar parts.  We'll see how it goes.

As for the big tree.  I was so sad to see it come down but it was a danger to my neighbour's home.  Now I have a ton of wood to use for fuel and carving projects.

Glad you're working hard and putting it to good use.   More people should.   C:  I hate splitting by axe and wedge now that I've tried a hydraulic splitter.
