I am mildly dyslexic and have a terrible time with some things - I resorted to drawing myself diagrams to sort this thing out. I finally got it tucked into my head. I understood the logic pretty quickly but I still have to lay the tuners down just so to be sure I get 'em right. Again they will work upside down but tend to slip and not hold tuning as well and thats when new. Hate to think what happens as they age and stretch. This stuff sure is fun to fool with !! I am going to do a blog/pic thing on how I do the fret board - mainly I use a separate piece of 1/4 oak from Lowes and stain it walnut, then I use hand selected poplar and stain it cherry. I use blue masking tape to protect the surfaces I will glue up and prestain both pieces. I do not cut my fret slots or fret marks until after staining to keep the stain out of the grooves. Don't know if that description will help or not - pictures are better. Bill

I was wrong. My first attempt was MUCH worse, as I used 3 left-side (or was it right side) tuner; two on left, one on right. You were consistant. I was just catawampus. Whatever way you turned a given tuner, you were wrong.
