All new guts coming here my friend. I don't want to light myself up. I will just be using the cases to house a circuit built from the ground up. These are going to take awhile but the cool factor will be worth it. I will probably add some lighting effects as well.

Please tell us you are not planning on simply tapping/hacking into the circuit like seen and done on transistor radios to create an amplifier.

If you don't already know, the power cord on tube radios is connected to the chassis, and typically does not have an isolation transformer. If one simply hacks into the circuit and adds a 1/4" input, plugs in a guitar, and turns on the radio amp, the moment he or she touches any grounded parts on the guitar (strings, jack, bridge, etc.), he/she will "light up like a slot machine and pay out in silver dollars".

Great looking radios, and an interesting idea to convert them to amplifiers.
