Hey Kentucky, thanks for the comments back. For some reason those comments aren't showing up on this page. I couldn't read them in total. The more I see this one, the more beautiful it looks. It's a great idea and execution. Thanks for showing. Forgive an old teacher for my big mouth.

That sounds great!  I am impressed.  (Which really isn't too hard to do... )  ;)

Quick question:  Does it sound like a traditional uke?  I am guessing it is similar to the difference between a CBG and a regular guitar.

Just curious.

Didn't mean to upset you friend. Just my bent on the subject. I usually build on bigger boxes than the cigar box. Some even rest the top of the box on the neck through without any space for the top to vibrate. I don't think this works as well as leaving some space for vibration. Even though it's small, I think it's a soundboard. There's another reason for hole placement. Strength of the top to stay flat and support the string tension.

@Dave Lynas-

It's a cigar box, there is no "sound board" in the Luther sense of the term. Guitars use a combination of bracing placement to create a soundboard. There is a lot of real estate on a guitar top to allow for sweet spots and dead zones... this however, is (once again) a cigar box, and the placement of the sound hole can vary by inches, and still be within the "soundboard" created by the top. After all, moving the sound hole down or up will only make a difference of 1 inch max... hardly enough to "remove the sound board". Thanks for your input, I will let the guy that bought it know you were concerned.

Concert is a good size.  I might have to build one.  ;)

Again.  Nice job!

Just sayin...

Love the idea but not the location. The hole is too close to the bridge. You've removed the soundboard.

Thanks! It sounds really nice and has a nice feel as well. I like to make concert scale ukes from my boxes because the proportion feels (and looks) right to me.
