Yes I used actual banjo size frets embedded directly into the natural finished cherry wood that makes up the neck. One screw in front holding the can to the slightly inlaid neck with the three strings going through the three machined brass string grommets that are held in place by tightening the 8x32 nuts on the inside of the can. A fret on the backside to keep the strings from cutting into the wood an a brass piece inlaid into the bottom of the tail section for the ball string ends to ride in.
