BLC's Kingston pickup is kind of reminiscent of this one on my noname. Not surface mounted like a gold foil, but sounds great.

reds are sweet  too  , and  look   sexy  as  hell.  ;-)

i  like the  black  foils  in  the same  style  too  .  ironicly   ,  they are     more  rare  than the   golds  , yet  cheaper  . but  golds  have the ss4l   ,  houndoug  , and cooder    fame attached  . and some  say are  "  prettier  ".

sound wise  ,   some  blacks   seem on  par   with  the  golds ,  some  other  skinny  versions  , not so  much  ,,  but  still a distinct  vintage sound .

Hey Dave, I'm curious, what kind of ohm readings do you get for the black foils? I had a gold foil axe & they read about 6K each. The new axe pictured below is about 3K, but very vibrant.

Hi folks. I,ve been using "black foil" Teisco mag pickups in my last 3 box guitars. I love their sound. Gold foils are much more expensive. I think the black foils are about the same sound, without individual pole screws, but still vintage good. Pick, what,s your thoughts?

My new love is playing my guitars thru this old Bogen M60, even my single pickup noname sounds like a monster.

Thanks Pick, I knew you would come up with something. Glad my neck angle is good, plays great with very low action & no buzzing.
