CBGs, cookie tins.. They're great.. But sometimes a neck is just too nice to stick in a recycled container...
And sometimes you just gotta rock out..

This is a Hofner style tremolo, like a Bigsby requires no routing it mounts on top, like a Bigsby works best with a roller bridge, NB I say works best, you could probably get away with a $6 economy style bridge, if you kept the notches clean and a little bit lubed.

This is a Gibson style roller bridge, where the Bigsby would replace the tailpiece.

See, this is a roller style bridge for a Tele, they just remove the part where the strings feed thru, it's a flat plate.

For a Bigsby, your best going with a roller bridge of some kind, to take the friction off the strings. I've seen them in Gibson style, I think I saw them in Tele style as well.

Do you absolutely have to have a Bigsby? The Hofner style vibrato might be an easier fit?

G'Day All, after a bit of help if possible ? I have an old Strat Style electric that I'm totally modifying, the prob is I want to add a B5 Bigsby vibrato but unsure of the best sort of bridge to use and the easiest to fit this style, have checked out heap's an all kind's on the web, most seem to fit Gibson style though with the 2 wheel's etc or would I be better off and just make my own Bone bridge and would that work ? Cheer's

:D you won't be the first guitar maker to hide a screwup with paint brother. It can still be a one of a kind home spun classic. Keep us posted.

My first build will be a fretless solid. No pics yet. Want to get this thing painted to hide all my really poor woodworking skills. Was chiseling grooves for the pickup wires and the two piece body snapped in half. That would have really sucked, or been funny as hell, if I were playing it when that happened.

Yeah man cry tough is great. He's had both hips replaced a couple of years ago yet still goes bezel performing despite his pain which makes the song incredibly prophetic.

He's got two of mine btw :D
