Tres Seaver , I've built about 30 guitars in the "traditional manner". Some of which you can see at glenweber,com Just trying to make a standard Cigbox, nothing unusual .. Thanks for the help !!!

Thanks , added the pics ... !!!!!! Glue drying on the FB ... Standard build .. nothing unusual ... if you can call a cigar box guitar "usual"...hahahahaha

Look for the "Quick Add" box over on the right side near the top: it should make it easy to add photos. And we do want to see the pix!

Thanks Tres Seaver, I got that part worked out , just belt sanded in a concave under the bridge part of the neck , the whole top can now move ...25" scale so the bridge ends up about the middle of the box,naturally right over the naked ladies ... grrr!! hahaha .. I'd post a pic , but don't know how here... besides I'd guess you guys don't need to see more of the same ...

Answering my own question earlier: the '8/32 X 1 1⁄2 " bolt' in the classic plans should be written '#8-ew x 1 1/2 " bolt' instead.

StarGeezers: I think your intuition is correct, but have only built one of the "classic" recipe CBGs myself. The "doodle bass" I built does not have the through-neck touch the top for just that reason.

If you do relieve it, then you need to work out how to get the fretboard either aligned with the top, or extended on top of it.

Building my First Cigar box guitar...4 string fretless for slide blues ... swamp ash neck thru, allthread rod for nut and bridge ... Rosewood Fretboard .. Question: Should I relieve the neck through under the top so it doesn't touch the neck ... bridge would then resonate the whole top then ,right???

BTW, what is with the '8/32"' bit in the plans? Seems like a bit of a "left-handed monkey wrench to me, unless somebody knows something I don't (last I checked,
8/32 was 1/4).
