Guys if you want an idea of the string gauge for your CBG, have a look at the dulcimer page below, its a handy gauge  calculator, I use if for all sorts of weird sets ups, sawmill tuned mandolins and Celtic bouzoukis etc.

If you have to ask how much a hang drum costs, you can't afford one! If I heard right, they are no longer being made so an absurdly expensive drum became nightmarishly expensive.

The Hapi drum is still good value at under $400. But I wouldn't be allowed here in cigarbox guitar land if I didn't try to build my own first!

My project so far : ,..... Well, my first test with a Nylon string to verify nut & bridge height and position, and I was disapointed on the string positions, not crazy about the height, and much more on the buzz & sound of my CBG. The main reason is my Long neck. I moved the Bridge closer ot he body, and everything changed. I think I will end up cutting the neck of my project to a Tenor guitar size ... any recomendation?

I saw a "tank drum" at a festival a couple of weeks ago and it does make me want to try something like that---really a large metal tongue drum which are fun.  There was a hang drum as well, first I've seen in the flesh and that REALLY  interests me--everything but the cost--(now if I can take an old Wok lid------------)

One of the things I like about Havlena's page is each Project has its own "subpage" where you can see details, pictures & plans for its construction. As a constructive comment I think this could be good for this website, where anyone who wants to provide the details of construction of their own CBG could do it in a more strcutured matter. Not sure if you agree with me.
