Hi Chris Cremeans
I constui one from a box that I made of wood, I reinforced in the box with a ribbon of2x1cm and a bracket against the neck on the inside of the box, the resonator is astainless steel plate 0.90 euro cent of those who are to feed the dogs, look from a few which have thinner steel, lead me on the weight.
use a 25 "scale four-string, you can look at pictures on my site of photos on cigarbox nation, maybe you sirva.el resulting sound was very pleasing to the touch with a slide, very bright and more powerful than you imagine!.

One thing that I have never seen posted (maybe I didn't look hard enough) regarding soldering are as follows:
1: you should always sand the outside of the solder prior to using it to remove the thin oxide coating that forms on the outside of the solder. Usually the oxide that forms has a higher melting point than the filler does making it hard to get it to melt at the advertised temp. It takes two seconds and will definitelyake a difference. Just fold a piece of fine grit and sandwich the solder and pull toward the end (obviously) then sand the pot for the exact same reason. I've seen pretty much everybody solder without doing this. This might help.

thanks for the input. The Getty tutorial helped.  I also took a little 400 s p and hit the back of the pot.  Job complete.  Thanks again

I might also suggest wrapping a wet cloth around the pot (except where you're soldering of course) to absorb the excess heat.

Jim - check out this article on my site about soldering. It has specific how-to for pot-soldering: http://www.cbgitty.com/?p=83

soldering problem.  making a harness for my 2nd. CBG and am stuck getting the solder to stick to the back of the pot.  I'm afraid to heat it too much for fear of destroying the pot.  Any advice would be helpful.
