I am part of a joint forces hospital in Afganistan. I believe when people see these they will want one, especially if I am here to teach them how to play. We fight time and boredom as much as anything. We work long days and have little to do with our selves. I made a 1 stringed diddly bow out of a cigar box I begged off the lady in the PX store and scrounged the wood and the screws and nails from the boxes they ship coffins in over to here. I built it with my gerber tool, army issue and play it will a ten penny nail. The magic is still there even though it is way way primitive. Most guys can not believe I can get so much music out of it. Anyway, I really want to thank you for this kind and generous gesture. I have been here for 2 months already and I know life will be better with a cbg. My american and British friends will think so to. Thank you all so much

Anyone with friends and family over there, ask them if they'd like a strummer.

First, let me say that this is a great idea. Second, I'm happy to jump in the fray.

I have quite a few friends that are overseas at the moment, and I do some contract work for our armed forces. Mental health is a serious issue right now, and anything we can do to make it easier on these men/women (and in a lot of cases these folks are still basically kids) is awesome.

I dont care what your politics are, this is a great idea people.
