I gotta be honest. We didn't even go to church for Easter. My son's birthday was the day previous, so we had family over on Saturday. Sunday we were more interested in spending the day at home, then getting all fancied up for an Easter service. Plus I have some difficulty celebrating the resurection of Christ on a day originally dedicated to the goddess Ishtar and rife with carryovers from those pagan traditions (eggs, bunnies, etc).

We would actually prefer to observe the passover, but we haven't done that yet because we don't know the traditions associated with that (and it's a very busy time of year for us, which makes implimenting new traditions more complicated than it would otherwise be)

Good for you. In your post you've modeled what persons of faith should be about. Recieve a good word and then echo it outward to the world.

Good morning Chapel,

Here we are on the Sunday after Easter. Does anyone have a Jesus hangover? All the pomp and glitz that sometimes accompany Easter often reminds me of some over processed, stadium held rock band concert. The next time you hear that band on your car radio is seems small and well, dull.

How are you dealing with Jesus in real time?

For people of other faith traditions, how do you go back to "normal time" after one of the penticle holidays of your faith?

And, for spiritual people of no particular religious tradition, what do you make of the tendency of "religion" to make a "big deal" of religious holidays? Do you see these celebrations making people of those faith tradition better people, or is it just an excuse to party?

I'll like to hear from all of you.

Les' wife goes under the knife for cancer today and we want to make sure our prayers ensure her renewed health.

I know a prayer is like playing lotto, but God, can you look in on our odd family here and bless us with good health?

Joker I'll be prauing for you your father and your family. My brother had to have five arteries fixed and he is workin, I myself have three stents in my heart after three heart attacks. They can do amazing things today with the heart.
