just a few BLIND suggestions as i am not a pro or expert . try different p.s. , check your connections , especially grounds , try the capacitor in a different spot . on lm386 based chip amps , i have stopped noise with a cap literally ON the chip pins . i think between pin 6 and 8 but ... prolly wrong on that . one spot and boss ps120 are really quiet adapters , just an observation , and good luck .
Hi there everyone! I noticed the discussion about the DC adaptor hum interference noise. Well, I managed to throw together the "huminator" from Beavisaudio website. I really didn't notice any difference filtering out the hum. Also when I plug in the DC adaptor it reduces the volume of the sign some what. I notice when I unplug the DC Adaptor the sound is louder with the battery only. Hummmm? anyone know the cause of this? I tried running a 100uf cap and resistor after the DC input jack, but same thing. it decreases the volume some what....... well darn....I'm stumped!!! please help if you have suggestions or a fix.
Thanks
Awesome, thanx for all the info and feedback. Will look into adding a capicitor across the d/c input jack. This makes a lot of sense.
Nice job on the cabinet! Love the speaker grille pattern!
Yeah... I'd try a fairly large value capacitor across the DC input jack... on the order of 100 to 500 microfarads -- make sure you watch the polarity of the cap.
Another possible fix: Add a 9VDC regulator after your DC input jack.
Awesome, Thanx Chuck. I'll try out some different adapters and plug into some different circuits around the house. You have at least given me hope.
