I built a 2-string for my daughter to take backpacking, tuned AD. You can run the melody up the thin string and the other string provides a great drone. If the melody needs to dip down to the heavy string, the top string makes a nice drone, too. I was amazed how interesting it sounds -- so pared down. I used diatonic (strumstick) fretting to make it super easy to play.

Yeah I'm in too Keith, having hard time to play, frankly 1 string is enough for me, but I've set myself a challenge to learn to play with one more string. I love the way Mark Stowe is playing in the video, I hope one day the kids will learn from
him because it is the easy way to get a nice song when you don't know anything to music. Talking about the buildings, 2 strings are easier too because they have less requirements. Two strings have less chances to bend your neck so anyone can build with whatever wood they have... that's important because in some countries the wood is expensive or difficult to get...

I am glad to see more folks than me have joined, I love building CBG even though I cant play much and the next one is going to be a 2 stringer as I still have trouble even playing 3 strings. I enjoy the building more thatn anything and give them away and just keep one in the stable to mess with. Rock on

I have not built a 2 string yet, but when I play I notice I can get a lot from juts the bottom 2 strings so I may make a 2 stringer yet. Half the rock songs I learned from my guitar instructor used just 2 string power chords, could be fun.
