The other week this young guy was so eager to show the guitar he had made at school, and I praised him for his efforts. As it was made out of a tissue box and elastic bands and sticky tape it had no sound at all. I  explained how to improve it to get some sound. To my surprise he came back in half an hour with the improvements made. He actually understood what I was talking about.

So as a reward I said he could come to my workshop and build a real guitar, one with volume. As luck would have it the lid of the tin has a raised edge all round it, so the neck is not touching the soundboard area, only the bridge so the sound is ok for what it is. Any he's over the moon with it.

I could not find a category for showing builds. So the Building Secret is: the bridge stands on the tin lid not the neck.
