Hi, I thought it might be a good idea to show some of the many tools and jigs I have made over the years, instead of buying them They may not be your cup of tea, you may not need them, but I may inspire you to be creative in your thinking.

As I mentioned in a previous post, out of all the tools and jigs in the Stumac catalogue I have made 53 of them for myself. Often before they appeared in their catalogue. Most are not original and many are created from just seeing a photo of the tool or jig.

To kick things off I'll show some of the knives I have made or modified. Sometimes two  knives come from the one blade of a bigger kitchen or boning knives.

Still to come is a host of different  hand saws, a half a dozen different style clamps, power tool attachments and misc. other converted  hand tools.

Feel free to add to the list.

Cheers Taff

Hi, here I have shown the tools I would choose from to make a full size guitar neck, not shown is the holder for the neck.

The other photos show the quick and easy way I do a 3-4 string CBG neck. I use a large roundover router bit with bearing. The router is clamped into a suitable "found" router holder and then that is clamped into the bench vice.

It gives a "D" shaped neck with a rather flattened back, but lots of wood left for stability. After routing I sand with paper on a sanding stick and then wrapped in my hand.

That's a good suggestion, I usually start with a 1/2" roundover bit and then to the files and scrapers.

I use a 3/8" round over bit... after I have cut the scarf joint and dadoed the neck for the box.  I round  1/2" shy of the dado for a heel piece, and round all the way through the scarf joint.  I clamp down the neck and cleanup the edge before gluing...

Looks nice John.

Here is a small sanding stick I made, years later I bought the factory model. Both do the job.

You'll have to make the photo bigger to see it all, I stuffed up.
