Quarantine Build: 12 String Biscuit Tin Canjo
Not going to lie guys, this one was a real pain. another quarantine build, this time a 12 string Biscuit Tin guitar. I don't think anyone has tried this before, I've seen one 12 string CBG, but not a Canjo. aside from the actual building process which is rather standard for me at this point, I had to do everything a lot more carefully and make a few adjustments to accommodate the extra strings.
The "Top Loading" 12 string bridge I bought is not entirely top loading, the top set of strings are top loaded, but the bottom set are thru body, so I had to carve out a little space for the ball ends of the strings under the tin lid. not easy as it risked weakening the structure under the lid that the bridge is mounted on and I'd rather not the tension of the strings rip the bridge off.
Also the neck, which is very heavy as a result of the 12 locking machine heads that came with it, does not have an angled headstock and I had to fit a string bar, which I'm sure will not hold up to the tension of the strings.
I'm again having issues with getting my pictures up, but I will try. for now, I must tend to my sun burns, its hot in the UK and I've been bareback in the sun for too long.

Updates: I have sorted out the String tension Bar issue and this thing is at last playing and tuning properly. The sound is interesting, certainly unique. it lacks the lacks the jangle of a traditional 12 String Acoustic, but its not as full or warm sounding as a solid body E.G the 12 String neck of the EDS-1275, its lighter.
Plugged into my Mustang amp, its loud even with everything set low, the 3 Piezo Discs work very nicely in unison to make it sound fuller. In short, I'm loving it.
