Junk Rock Hero: Ken Butler and his musical instruments made from trash
In the past year, I've had dozens of people send me viral videos of musicians playing shovel guitars. It seems to be the current trend: attach three strings to a shovel and film a boogie with an iPhone. The public seems to think this is a new idea and it's definitely created a buzz.
I keep thinking to myself, "Ken Butler has been doing this for decades!" And it's more than just shovels. Ken will build instruments out of anything.
