This is my next project...let ya know how it works...bout 6" across stainless dog bowl...gottit fer a buck....so it's gotta be good...

I used the aluminum lid for a girl-scout cooking set form mine:

Works very well and has a good sound. It's suspended from the back of the guitar by the rails you can see in the picture.

Another item I thought would work well is the clamp-on sort of spun aluminum "shop light" reflector you can get from hardware stores for a few bucks. They come in several sizes, and can be easily cut to accomodate any size cigar box.

The store-bought jobs made for resonator mandolins and ukes look great....But I wanted a more "homespun" approach.

Finally, the scientific method is applied to CBGs! That's one of the best pages I've seen so far on CBGs.

Any recommendations on mounting it in order to give it the best ability to react to the strings?

Also, any reason not to try a larger can? I'd guess a large tuna can would have the same materials but push more air...
