Not yet done with the build and I am already planning my next build. It is a 2 string Bass with a 30" scale.

Here is a line drawing of it....

looks  cool  ..

  sorry  ....  i'm an  enabler   ;-)

Story of my life, HAHAHA

No help for you. : ) Looking forward to seeing and hearing this build Corbin.

I'm with Pick...enablers are we...twisted, demented, stricken with madness...but fully lucid and aware of our shared plight. There is no cure...but that's not a bad thing. In the big picture, I find serenity in chatting & sharing with this group of awesome folks who make life much more interesting.

Enjoy the ride...cover the floor with wood shavings, keep your fingers away from sharp objects (like that tomahawk), and have fun. And most important...make those strings sing.

I have the same affliction. I'll just let it run its course. I'm trying to spread my germs, too. Judging by this site, we have an epidemic!

That's how it goes.   Nice bass plans.   Over time, you will lose less sleep thinking about builds and you may go into brief remissions where you don't build.   But there will be flare-ups.  It's a life long condition.

I'm thinking it might look a little better with a wider body....

Yup.  Inch and a quarter...

The narrow body looks good but I'm with Uncle John on neck width.  A 1" x 1" neck with 2 bass strings may be a bit fiddly.  You could try making a very rough mock-up with some scrap wood to see how it handles.

I used TurboCAD and then did a screen shot of the drawing and pasted it into a Paintshop Pro drawing...

Hmmm. Make it look like a largemouth...bass

The wider body would help with weight issues with the longer neck. You could try both sizes with cardboard. See what feels best for playing.

Which reminds me... i ned to build more.
