I bought a set of end cutting pliers at harbor freight but they won't cut close enough leaving me with a good bit of filing to do. What are you guys using, should I go ahead and get the Stewmacs?

Thumbs up on the belt sander, just go easy. I knock the edges down to flush, then use a home brew fret bevel file/block.
I bought a pair of these one eBay
ill let you know how they work
Thanks for all your advice and comments

Thanks for the link to the cutters, just ordered , looks awesome!

You're welcome
I should get mine today I'll try them out and let you know
Jeff have you tried your FastCap nippers out.....
Yes doggy they work great

I just use a pair of flush cuts.  I have found them to work really well, and they reduce the amount of filing I have to do.
