I just got a 6 inch reso disk cone from Old Lowe, and plan to put it in an old Stella guitar I have. I don't want to pay 50 bucks for a 6 inch hole saw, but I also don't want to make a big ole jagged cut using a sabre saw either.

Has anyone got a suggestion on how I can make a nice clean cut? A Dremel tool maybe?

cut some holes today ,, the painters tape really work s,, I had saw someone else using it  to keep the splintering to a min ,, I tried it and it sure works great ,, some of the cleanest holes i have cut to date

Mini router, template and a guided style router bit would be my simplest suggested method. And yes, protect the area with a layer of tape. Reduces splintering and scratching.
Or you could just load a 12-gauge with some double-ought, stand back about 3 feet, and tell Stella to say her prayers...

That would be the Blooz way to do it >:-E
I opted for this method. As soon as they get my bail processed, I will post some pics.

Here's the story of Dangerous Dan -
A CB guitar buildin' ladies' man.
He had a hole deep in his heart left to fill
And a coupla lonely weekend hours to kill.

He'd met a nice gal, Stella by name
With lovely curves on her sunburnt frame,
But she wouldn't put out, wouldn't consummate,
Though Dan tried hard to make her resonate.

He Diddlied and slid, and he fingered and fretted,
But Stella refused to have her appetite whetted.
Dan tried to bridge her with his mojo bone
But nothing improved Stella's desolate tone.

'Til one day Dan remembered crafty Old Lowe
Who'd mastered the art of the sound down below,
And the magic of woodies (both boxes and pole),
By fitting a silky spun cone in the hole.

So Daniel acquired a metallic diaphragm
Intending the hole of his Stella to cram,
For the hole had resisted all previous tries
To give voice to Stella's recalcitrant cries.

But Dan realized, in his logical fashion,
The hole would need modifications for passion.
He sought the advice of his CBN brothers
For ways to increase the hole's size - for his "druthers."

But while he was quizzing the brightest and best,
His Stella had other ideas up her chest,
She'd got tired of waiting for Dan to delight her
And took up with Willie the Hallmark Card writer.

The sun through the window burned hot like a brand,
When Dan spied his Stella with Willie in hand
He said not a word, but went home, then returned,
For the rage of his jealousy jaggedly burned.

Dan burst through the door, then discharged the barrel
Of GrandDad's old 12-gauge, which left Willie sterile,
And Stella belatedly well-ventilated -
For such is the love of a man who's frustrated.

ROFL!!!

Dan,

Glad you liked it. I should set this to a talking blues...maybe call it "Stella's Got A Brand New Back, or Holier Than Thou"
