I don't see any reason why not. It might add an interesting sound to it.

On just about any other stringed instrument, a small copper pipe joint would raise the action to high, but with a diddly bow where you use a slide instead of fretting individual strings, it should work just fine.

thankyou Rand & Dan i will try it. just found a perfect nut for a didley in diy shop. its a bleeding valve off a radiator ,its threaded and its made of solid copper. you just notch the didley pole with a v notch and the valve sits in place.you can even remove the bleed pin from the centre and place some wire through the hole to make a solid fitting nut for the string to pass over.
