I've used a wide range of pickups, including those sourced from China. Never had any problems with them, with the exception that when ordering, it can take from 3-4 weeks to arrive. This is due to the fact that those parcels are used to fill "empty space" in shipping containers on freight ships coming from Asia to North America. Those are usually offered with free shipping due to the nature of transport...not sent via traditional postal methods.

Pros? Good for building on a budget. Fairly well made. Will suit the purposes of most builders. Does the job that a mag pup is supposed to do. There are, of course better pickups available.

Cons? Haven't had troubles with these pickups in relation to performance, or quality relative to price. But some people may argue that buying from China or any other seller outside our own country/region is counter-productive in supporting a local economy. I understand this. But in today's world, it is difficult to purchase many every day items other than musical parts that do not originate from the Land of the Red Sun. And as a consumer in a time where money is tight, I like to make my dollars last.

As Scott said, they work fine for the money.  More expensive pickups may give a better sound but there are so many variables.  You'd have to put the pickup in exactly the same instrument, through the same amp and settings, in the same room to get a valid comparison.

For CBGs, I think that cheap mag pickups do the job.  Of course, there's Chinese-cheap (£5), and then there's makes like Wilkinson and Artec at £10- £15.  They give a nice sound for not much cash.

As always, you pays your money............

I`ve bought several from China, the delivery times have improved greatly (around 7-10 days) ther quality is far better than any piezo and as good as a lot of more expensive western ones. They are cheap, cheerful,do the job.
