Chat Window

Folks, I was chatting with someone today and we noticed that not
everyone knows the easy way to access the site chat. Now, I'm not
saying that everyone has this (I hope you do) but if you do, try this:

Look down at the bottom of your browser window. Across the very bottom above
the Status Bar (if active) there will be a gray stripe and on the
right, there should say: Cigar Box Nation Chat | nn Online. There will be some buttons there that bring up the chat window OR will bring the chat up in a separate window.

The usual way to start the chat window is to select the 'Community' menu at the top and select 'Chat'.

Give it a try and join us online. You might learn something..

I pop in a few times a day but I always seem to be there at the wrong time, nobody home. Good place to go when someone is in there though. Stop by people.

Folks, keep in mind that if there seems to be people in the chat but no one seems to be chatting, that doesn't mean anything. When you are logged in to the Nation here, you might show up as Online (see my discussion on Chat Window). Thus when you bring up the chat here, you might post but not get any responses. Folks just might not have the chat window up. PLEASE do not take it personally.

Also keep in mind that not everyone that shows up as online is available to chat (myself, I am supposed to be working).

If you have a question and want an answer, ask here. If you don't get a response within 10 minutes, post it on the forum. PLEASE keep in mind that there are a few questions that have been frequently asked. Hmmmm that's interesting -- Frequently Asked Questions.... (I'll talk to Shane, et al).

Sometimes, you are going to find the answer quicker if you do a search (see top of the page for the search feature).

I've said it before and I'll say it again, no matter how many times we answer the same questions, we will answer -- or at least someone will.

ALSO, if you complain about the responsiveness on this chat, feel free to be available to respond when others post. Don't just complain because you weren't responded to. This is the Cigar Box Nation -- an online community* whereby it takes _you_ to make it possible.
