box too thin?

I got a couple boxes that are only about 1.68 inches deep, otherwise good sized.  can i still use these for acoustic or do i need to make electrics out of them cuz their too thin?

Try them acoustic, you can always add a piezo later if you don't like the sound. I made an Arturo Fuente that was about that thin and it sounded ok.

i just finished one that was that thin and i made it elec/acoustic and it sounds great. i didnt reinforce much to keep vibrations up. seemed to be ok.
