Hi Jonathan,
I have played the ukulele for Hawaiian dancers at Jiyuugaota last Sunday.
What kind of music do you play besides making CBG ?
Best Regards,
Tj

Jonathan,

All standard six string bridges that you can get from suppliers are made to support standard neck dimensions. If you're using a standard scale length (25.5) standard width at the nut is 41 mm and 2 inches at the 12th fret. If you get those measurements right, everything else will naturally fall into place.

You wouldn't want to have a neck this wide for a three string guitar (in my opinion anyway). The distance between strings would be too great to play comfortably. For a Tapered 3 string neck I'd make the nut 1 1/2 inches wide and maybe 1 3/4" or so at the base (no the 12'th fret but more like the 22nd or 24th fret).

Hi Jonathan. I will send a pic when the dulcimer is completed. As I chose a through neck I am still hunting down some tiny stainless pop rivets to use as string guides and I think I may fit a volume control to the piezo. After that its glue, screw and strings. It looks colourful, as the bright yellow Montecristo is clean with a reversed top (it had the price in heavy black marker on the original outer top). I had considered black bridge pegs, but the strings eat their way through the ply too much. Good fun this planning, what knobs, tuners, box etc. Regards Steve

So Jonathan, what are the latest goings on going on? Any progress pictures to share? Any horrendously nerve wracking concerns to ask about? Perhaps some tremendous discoveries in kitchen table based luthiery that you might wish to divulge?
If none of that applies, are you still enjoying the hobby?

Welcome to the Nation, Jonathan. If your guitars are as pretty as your little partner in the picture you'll be a legend.
