Okay so I have a question: Does anyone have a reliable way to adhere something such as shoe pleather to wood? I am building a solid body for my daughter, and want to have some Ed Hardy syle cutouts pasted on to the body. They are from a pair of fancy converse that I cut out. Any thoughts?

Epoxy

Yea. The only thing is to have some alcohol handy for cleanup purposes.

   Preferably bourbon...

Thanks guys, That was my thought too. But I do not have the time or money to experiment and be wrong.

I think I can handle bourbon cleap up procedures 8v)

Tequila works better...

Good old Pliobond ... rubber cent has been used for gluing leather  for years (shoe repair coblers used it ... remember them). You spread a thin coat on each surface allow to dry until each piece is still a bit tacky. Then adhere toether ... Makes a very strong bond and because of the solvents used in it you might also get a buzz while using it. Not recommended for use with children in the area.

I've used 3M spray adhesive for similar things - leather to headstock. Spray a coat to each surface, let dry til tacky and mount.  No bumps like with glue or rubber cement and it should last forever.

Thank you for the ideas, people. Should I note that I want to spray a clear coat type finish when done.

Ted, I have used the 3m stuff often, good spray adhesive for the price.
