2011 Cigar Box Nation Christmas Album

I know it seems early, but Christmas will be here before you know it.

Shane had organized the Christmas albums in the past, but in his absence, CB Gitty asked me if I would like to coordinate it for this year.

For any of the new folks here on the Nation, we have compiled a yearly album of songs played, composed, sung, or whatever, by our members. The primary requirement is that the recording be of fairly good quality. For example, If you are singing, we want to be able to hear your voice. You get my drift...

The 2009 Christmas album contained 23 songs, and the 2010 Christmas contained 40 songs. More songs is not necessarily better, but we really don't have a limit on the number of songs we can include.

You can submit a cover of a traditional song, or you can do something you wrote/composed yourself.

Please respond in this thread if you would like to participate, and include the song that you would like to have included in the album. Once we have the final album compiled, it will be posted as a free download, and anyone will be able to download it. So, you will be able to pass the links along to your friends and family.

I will post more information later.

Thanks

Dan

We have a little over a week before the deadline, so if you haven't sent me your submission yet, you should still have plenty of time to get it done.

Don't forget, once I have the final album created and posted, it will be a free download. Pass the information along to your friends and family, post it all over the Net, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc.Gitty should be able to keep track of how many times it gets downloaded and let us know.

Hip Bone Bellaire sent  - Black Betty's Christmas--- 2 dan@humidorguitars.com

It's kind of a weird feeling for a first song ever and wonder if people either get it or if it sucks...

Anyway have a wonderful holiday and Be Blessed...

Talking in 3rd person only means I'm a bit on the edge this Holiday Season...

Have just emailed Brickdust & Pyno's submission

It is called Wee Wish Yoo (spelling deliberate, we are Slade fans)

Now we need to make the video....

Really wanted to work up a 2-cbg version of Guaraldi's 'Skating,' but there's no way to get it done in time. Really looking forward to everyone's stuff, though. I'll have a good jump on next year I guess lol.

Dan, thanks for putting this together.  Folks, get done so Dan does not have to rush.  I look forward to hearing the down load and I hope some of you folks are making videos too.  I have two Christmas videos ready and will try to wait till closer till Christmas.    :)

Yes much appreciated Dan, hoping to do a video of an instrumental version of my "Absent Friends" song nearer Christmas day too, yippee got two and a half weeks off this year - lots to do! (-;

sent my effort to  dan@humidorguitars.com

hopefully not shabby compared to all you great players!

Who said I played?  Just happened to have Blues Blood in me.

I've put a video together as well and I can't wait releasing it ...

The deadline is rapidly approaching, so please get your songs sent to me in the next week please.
