Thanks Terry...there's going to be plenty happening...a bit of harp never goes amiss..as you'll see if you check some of the stuff that goes down on the Crossroads Blues Club site...

....thats me fronting the house band with Dave Smith on harp, Ken Stratford on Bass, Freddie Pirotta on keys, Alan Nicholls on drums. Dave and Alan won't be there on 3rd, but I'm totally confident we won't have a problem putting together a scratch band on the night.

Just ordered me ticket! I will be there about 12.00, though as am at work early in the morning, so hope to team up with you guys a bit later.
Trucking up from Milton Keynes!
Not enough experience to play my CBG properly yet, but if anyone needs some Harmonica backing for the open mic session, I will gladly provide it.
Look forward to meeting you all

Jeez youve been busy!!

We'll see how it goes for the open mic...we'll draw up a running list on the evening. I'll take the 'graveyard' spot of opening the proceedings, Tinqiui is doing a spot..but there will be plenty of scope before we get Hollowbelly on for the headline spot.

Me! I should have about 15 gits and diddlys to sell, but if folk need to borrow one, then no problem - they'll have a choice :o)
As for the open mic, that depends entirly on what (and how much) ale is available....

Hi good people..who's bringing guitars to sell? I'm going to make a few as loaners for those who are coming but don't have a Cigar box Guitar..and as I said before..it's a sales opportunity! So if you don't have a CBG don't worry, there will be some for loan and sale..and if the worst comes to the worst, you can just take off 3 strings off any old guitar and we'll teach you how to play SeaSick Steve style.

Looks like we could split into a couple of groups for the playing workshops..any offers for leading a group?

Also, anyone who DEFINITELY wants to play in the evening open mic. please let me know....no pressure, but it will just help me a bit more to programme things in advance.

Timetable:
Day session - FUN
Evening - FUN, but louder :o)

Great to see the numbers creeping up - no doubt due to all of Johns hard work and commitment. Well done mate!

Hi Guys 'n' gals, I'm trying to firm-up arrangements for the day to pack in as much varied stuff as I can. I've drafted this schedule - I'm trying to strike a balance between the informal and interactive, and the more structured sort of thing so we can all enjoy the day and get a lot out of it. I've put in a couple of 'show and tell' sessions where people can get up and talk about the instruments they have made.

10.00 Introduction –meet and greet
10.30 Show and tell
11.00 Playing techniques and tunings workshop
12.00 Introductory building techniques workshop
1.00 Lunch
2.00 Show and tell 2
2.30 Building techniques workshop 2
3.30 Playing techniques workshop 2
4.30 Open playing sessions - group and solo
6.30 Close of daytime sessions

8.30 Evening concert

As regards transport, do check around with other members in case there is anyone in your area who you could share a ride with...it is already happening with other attendees.

It will be possible to pay on the door, but please bear in mind this is the first time we have done this, and I am trying to keep tabs on how many people we are likely to get attending...so having tickets sold in advance really helps us organise and plan the day for sorting the room out, doing lunch etc.

Also timings may vary depending on whether the group concensus shuffles the programme around, but the only really critical thing will be getting some free time early evening so we can get the gear ready and sound checked for the evening gig.

I'll be there, it's just a question of what time. It all depends on transport. If I can borrow my partner's car then I can make it for all of the day. If I have to travel by train then it gets difficult beacuse the services ain't great - it'll be difficult for me to get there before midday and getting back is likely to involve being stranded overnight on a platform somewhere. Another possibility is to use my motorbike, but there are potential snags there too - if the weather's not good them I don't fancy riding back in the small hours (and it also rules out bringing a guitar).

I'll work something out but I'm unlikely to know which way it's going to pan out until a couple of days beforehand. I'm presuming it'll be possible to pay on the door - if not then please let us know.

Also, do you have some sort of timetable for the daytime events? I know the evening gig is billed for 8.30 but it would help those of us who are struggling with planning our travel if we knew what the schedule was for the rest of the day.
