After lots of searching and reading and in an effort to avoid unleashing the wretched blue smoke, I would like to ask if I have this straight.

IF I have two 2.5 watt 3.2 Ohm boombox speakers and if the LM386 has a 4 Ohm to 8 Ohm range, can I assume if I hook them up daisy-chain style that it will make 6.2 Ohms making them OK for use? can resistors be used adjust this?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Don’t worry, you can’t set anything ablaze with a half a watt & 9 volts of power? And don’t worry about the ohms difference, its a Lo fi amp, not crucial?

OK, thank you very much! So, then I can use one 3.2 Ohm speaker? (My preference. Two amps!)

Yea, those are good, do not pass on any Sony made speakers. They don’t fool around? I don’t use anything under 2.5 watts for LM386 amps. Way better than the half watt speaker that’s in a Smokey?

Thanks for that tip, Brian! Coincidently, I am making a smokey from one of your layouts. Gonna try to add a volume to it since none of my CBGs have a volume control yet.

nearly any speaker will work with a LM386, here's one i made using a LM386 and an old draw plus a 12" FANE 15 ohm speaker, sound's fine,

Yeh, I saw this one awhile back. Fell in love with it immediately. Been meaning to tell you for awhile - I like your work. Very  nice work.

Thank you for the info.
