This one will go to my grandson for his 3rd birthday. He loves to play around with the one I made for his sister, my granddaughter, so I think it's time for him to have his own. I have a question for you folks. It's a 20" scale. Do I use the normal ADG strings tuned to get open G....GDG? Or should I use different strings due to the short scale length? I used those DR neon strings on my granddaughters and it will not stay in tune. I'm wondering if it's bevause I used ADG strings or if it's just that coating on the DR neon strings that's giving me fits

I've made several guitars with a 20 1/2" scale. the 6 5 4 of a light gauge set work fine.
