Grounding question
So I found some thin maple and decide to encase some piezos and stick them to the inside of one of my builds. I checked the pickup for sound and then I glued the box shut with some tightbond(couldn't find regular white glue that I usually use for this) Any how, now I have a grounding problem. You can hear a loud hum and it goes away when I touch the jack on the cbg. I ran a wire on the outside of the box from the jack to the strings-now it stops humming when I touch the strings! My soldering points are decent- my question is, if the hot wire lead is long enough to touch the brass edge of the piezo, could it cause a grounding problem?

Well as I found out during the grounding/electronic adventure I went through during my first build, most actual professional guitars are grounded to the bridge. So therefore when you play (or touch) the strings, you are acting as the ground.
So thats what I did.
And just to overkill the buzzing problem I had, I bought some aluminum foil tape at cough cough walmart cough. Covered the inside of my cigar box and now it sounds great!
