Nice speaker,looks like 4 ohms now as long as you have the power to run the speaker to get optimal performace out of it.But to answer your question all you need to do is hook up one side,the others terminals are for your cross over or your second speaker hook up.Just f.y.i. if you do hook up a secound speaker,you want to hook it up so it keeps at 4 ohms other wise it will be at 2 ohms and that's pretty low for a amp you start to get clipping or the amp looks at it as a short. by power, do you mean watt's, what would i need to drive the speaker, 5w,,or 10w, or more amp, ?

5 Watts works well, but it may not produce the sound your looking for you might have to go with a smaller speaker to get volume and a little distortion.other wise it won't be loud but you can push the speaker hard as far as performace.
and it will be sharp and clear.

Since you have it I say go ahead and use it. Subs have very poor reponse in high freqs, they roll off the highs rapidly and it may sound muddy and not clearly defined when played through. Then again to you it may sound great.

stogie, i've an old 10watt amp i can use the gut's out of, read that i need a tweeter ie another small speaker for the high's, what diameter and what ohm rating do i need,?, and would i wire them like this,

That 10 watt should be perfect for that amp,it all depends on the ohm rating of the amp if you have a 8 ohm amp and use a 4 ohm speaker it will be a little bit louder than with a 8 ohms speaker you gain a little bit of wattage.You never want to drop any lower in your ohm rating weather it's a solid state or tube amp.With a tube amp you can get away with it a little bit but if it a solid state the cicurity looks at it as thow it a short so you start to get clipping and lose signal. you should be find with a 10 watt and that speaker.It's good to try different speakers with a amp because sometimes the change in amp is so different for the better.

I just built a small amp and wondered about speakers, the circuit I used was originally with one 8 ohm speaker, so I used that and 2 x 4 ohm speakers wired in series to match the 8 ohm rating, I put a 3 way micro switch in, to swith between the single 8 ohm and the 2x 4 ohm speakers, great difference in sound. But, I think as long as you get the ohm's right you are safe to try any arrangment, and worth doing as well. Note, its a good idea to understand the wire in series or parrallel logic!!! basically wire 2x 4 ohm speakers in series =  8 ohms, but wire 2 4 ohms in parrallel then you get a dangerous 2 ohm rating. Got it, wire 2x 8 ohm in series = 16 ohm, but in parrallel = 4 ohm.

The single 8 ohm sounded better when using a guitar through it, but if I used my ipod through it the 2 x 4 ohm in series was better than the single 8 ohm, my alsofriends agree. I am building another amp, its a 40 watt 4 0hm sub woofer that uses a tube with it, plus 2 x NXT flat speakers, I just want to hear what the highs from the NXT's and the lows from the sub sound like.
