found this 8" speaker, it was in a boom-box/subwoofer, just wondering if it will work ok if i use it in an amp i'm going to build, and it's a 2-channel, with 4-connection's to it, do i just jump the lead's from 1 set to the other,

This is a low frequency driver only, the highs will be woefully inadequate for guitar which is mostly mids and highs. It looks like a pretty good speaker for a small amp if it were coupled with a hig frequency driver such as a small piezo horn or other small tweeter.#########################################################################by driver, do you mean a small speaker, what size would i use, 4" ?,and how would i wire them both,?

This link shows both series wired and parallel wired speakers:

Here is a link to one type of tweeter (cone):
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=299-920
which would be a real good mate to your 8" 'woofer' wired is 'series' mode for a small low power (1-5 watts or so) guitar amp. It should really hace a small capaitor wired across the tweeter to prevent lows from blowing it but used with low wattage it would work without it. That site (Parts-Express) has lots of speaker building info and parts. I buy from them quite a bit and they are great to deal with.

A small tweeter such as a 2 or 3" would work. The Radio Shack store has several types and prices. I would wire in series if using a conventional tweeter such as 8 ohm. If using a peizo type you could wire it in parallel with the 8" speaker. I'll try to find a good diagram and send a like shortly.
