Comment by Dave Lynas on April 3, 2019 at 1:13pm: Thanks Jeff. The wood under the controls is a very Red Mahogany. No stain involved just rub on varnish. It darkened with age also. It shows much lighter under the cover plate and under the chicken head. I made the beast in 2012 or so.
